I get emails from a great site, Free Technology for TeachersA recent article highlighted OpenEd, a free service that has created a huge catalog of educational videos and games that you can browse by topic, grade level, or Common Core standard. The service launched last fall.

I decided to explore the site, and found a good array of educational videos; I searched for resources pertaining to economics, since 20% of the questions on the GED 2014 Social Studies test concern this topic  and most of our students know very little about it.

I created "playlists" of these videos for each economics chapter in the pre-GED textbook (Common Core Basics: Social Studies, by McGraw Hill), so I'll be able to easily access them when needed. I searched for videos using the headings and key words in the chapters. I previewed most of the videos, but some wouldn't open on my old home computer; some videos I added to the list because they will help ME learn more about this topic!

Here are the links for the Economics playlists (I also started playlists for other subjects....)
